2019 Elba Muck Onion Twilight Meeting

This in-field twilight meeting will feature research highlights presented by Christy Hoepting, CCE Cornell Vegetable Program, and Brian Nault, Dept. of Entomology, Cornell University Agri-Tech:

  • 2019 results from onion thrips research trials including:
    • Insecticide efficacy trials featuring the search for another "hammer"
    • Tour of nitrogen plots
  • Tour of 2019 Big Fat Onion Variety Nitrogen Rot Project, featuring:
    • Late planting of varieties ranging from 95 to 120 days
    • Crop response to nitrogen
    • Effect of variety on bacterial bulb rot
  • What New York onion growers need to know about Allium Leaf Minor as it may effect trade
  • Research highlights from 2019 spring research trials featuring:
    • Effect of GPA on post-emergent weed control and crop tolerance
    • Pro Gro vs. Ever Gol Prime for onion smut control.
