Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of Bike Fixit Station

CCE Wayne purchased another Empire State Trail amenity- a Bike Fixit Station installed in Savannah! 

Join us as we celebrate! 

The bike fixit station is a final gift from SOAR, a resident-driven grant which worked alongside the people of Clyde, Galen, and Savannah for 11 years before its’ completion at the end of 2024. Cornell Cooperative Extension Wayne County administered the SOAR grant which was funded by the Greater Rochester Health Foundation. The grant’s focus was to build upon and work with the existing amenities and strengths of the communities.

This bike fixit gift was given to Savannah to help build on the great opportunity that the town has - being located along the Erie Canalway Trail which became a part of the 750-mile-long Empire State Trail. It’s incredible to think that every year thousands of cyclists from around the world travel on the trail.

We are grateful to Savannah’s Highway Department for installing the station and to the Savannah Chamber of Commerce for providing the wayfinding signage to direct people to it.

Cornell Cooperative Extension is pleased to offer this gift which will continue giving to both residents and visitors for years to come.
