Are you looking for ways to eat better and improve your health? Join the Fruit & Vegetable Prescription Program (FVRX)

The FVRx Program is an initiative of Extension’s Wayne Country Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program - Nutrition Education and Obesity Prevention Program (SNAP-Ed), which provides services in Wayne, Monroe, Livingston, Cayuga, Seneca and Ontario Counties.

Fruit & Vegetable Prescription 6-week Program (FVRx)

  • Free SNAP-Ed NY program
  • 6 classes, 60 minutes each
  • $15/class in vouchers for fresh fruits and vegetables from local retailers
  • A total of $90 in fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Classes start at different dates and times throughout the year
    Via ZOOM offered in English or Spanish
    and American Sign Language
    In-Person at specified locations

Must be 15 years or older to register.

Fruit and vegetable 6-month prescription program (FVRx). 

  • Free SNAP-Ed NY program.
  • Classes will meet twice a month. 
  • These classes teach nutrition education, provide food demonstrations, tours of the grocery store and/or farmers market, and physical activity breaks. 
  • Receive $32/month with our Fresh Connect MasterCard for fresh fruits and vegetables to be redeemed at Walmart.
  • Classes will be available in Wayne and Monroe County and will be in-person only offered in English or Spanish.

Must be 18 years or older to register and be able to committee to the full 6-month of classes. Registration is required prior to class start date.
